What to expect
We recognize that visiting a new place can cause anxiety and frustration, so we’ve created this page to put you at ease and let you know exactly what you can expect when visting us for the first time
Service starts at 10am on Sunday morning and lasts for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Dwell City is located at Harford Day School, 715 Moores Mill Rd., Bel Air, MD 21014
At Dwell City, we encourage you to come as you are.
You will find everything from shorts & t-shirts to jackets and dress pants.
We have a large parking lot with plenty of handicap accessible spaces. Look for Dwell City Flags by the road to turn into the parking lot and the Dwell City tent for the sidewalk to the lobby. We will be there to greet you!
Upon arrival at the lobby, you will find a check-in table for children, staffed by friendly volunteers who will help you securely register your child. Our secure check-in and check-out procedures ensure we always know where each child is located. Children from the nursery up to three years old can be dropped off before the service begins. Pre-K (four-year-olds) through fifth graders will stay with their parents during the musical portion of the service and will then be dismissed to our children’s volunteers. These volunteers will escort the children to their appropriate classrooms, where they will remain until a parent picks them up after the service. During their time in class, children will enjoy an active and engaging learning experience focused on the Bible, along with games, crafts, and other fun activities.
Additional security measures protect the children’s area of the church. Only parents are allowed into the kids’ area to pick up their child. Safety is our top priority! All activities are supervised by adult leaders who have undergone background checks, submitted applications, provided references, and completed training. Children have dedicated restrooms.
We begin the service with a reading of Scripture, prayer and with singing some songs. We mostly do contemporary-style music, but we also sing some older hymns.
Then we listen to one of our pastors give a relevant Bible-based message that lasts for about 35 minutes.
After the message, we sing a concluding song and are sent out into the world on mission for Jesus.

Safety is a top priority for Dwell City! All staff and volunteers who work with or have access to children must pass a background check, complete an application, and complete regular training on child safety. The children's area of the church is protected by additional security measures. We use a safe check-in and check-out process to know where every child is at all times. Other than approved staff, the only adults allowed in the children’s are parents. We partner with the Evangelical Council for Abuse Prevention to ensure the highest standards of safety and care for children, families, and other vulnerable adults. Click HERE to view ECAP standards.
